Short Film: Bite – A Zombie short film (Dir. David So)
Have you and your friends talked about how would you survive in the zombie apocalypse? What if one of your loved ones has been bitten by zombies and will soon also want to taste your brain? What would you do?
David So and crew have come up with a new short film in the brain eating zombie genre. Sticking to his traditional style, tension for fun, the video production in this short is just that.
Events unfold on the roof of the building, where a girl tries in every possible way to avoid a bite from the zombies. However, she fails. The zombie bites her and then her boyfriend kills a walking dead man.
Sticking to the George Romero script, a transformation takes place after a bite. All the characters of “Bite” are expecting the transformation and think about how to avoid unpleasant consequences that come with it. David keeps the viewer interested with great comedic dialogue and situational humor. The voltage from “Bite” makes for one of the best short films we have seen.
The short seems to be recorded with digital SLR camera using some pretty good video lighting techniques. The partially desaturated color scheme helped add to the feel of “horror” while the dialogue keeps you interested and laughing. We also like how the filmmaker David So, had such an intense opening in the beginning of the short. It really is a great videography example for beginner directors.
