The National “Guilty Party” (Dir. Casey Reas)
The National released a video for the song “Guilty Party” which is to be included in the new album “Sleep Well Beast”. The enigmatic video shows hovering holographic portraits of Casey Reas. In addition, he made a cover for a new record. Earlier the band released a video for the song “The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness”. “Sleep Well Beast” was release September 8, this is the band’s first album after a four-year hiatus.
The director of the clip, Casey Reas, described the work as follows:
“It’s about time and space. Time moves forward, but memory can return it back. This is the image of the two-faced Roman god Janus, who could consider the past and the future.”
The clip “Guilty Party” was released after the track “The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness”, which the band recently presented at the festival “Pitchfork” in Paris. The group also recently performed a series of “home” concerts, “Give a Home”, organized by “Amnesty International” and Sofar Sound, which was held soon after the release of their album “Sleep Well Beast”.
Previously, the musicians had already released the single The System Only Dreams In Total Darkness, and at a recent concert in Paris they performed several new songs, including “Guilty Party”.
